In August 2008, Len Moodispaw founded KeyW—naming it after his love of Key West and adopting a parrot, Mango, as the company mascot and logo.
Although many knew Len for his ties to the Intelligence Community, his part in establishing the Intelligence and Security Alliance and his leadership roles at companies such as KeyW, Essex, Northrop Grumman and ManTech, most remember him as a person who put country and man before himself. His humanity, generosity and charity touched many—and he founded KeyW on these principles—making it a decidedly different and caring place to work.
A true leader, Len also founded the KeyW Community Connection (KCC), a sister KeyW non-profit organization that matches contributions employees make to charities of their choice. During Len’s time at KeyW, the company donated nearly half a million dollars to charities, including Make-a-Wish, Wounded Warriors and the American Cancer Society—and KCC still thrives today.
In business, Len’s approach was simple: mission first—securing our nation and its allies was his top priority. His vision of staying nimble on purpose and approaching every challenge with a spirit of innovation that goes beyond the expected is the very heartbeat of KeyW’s foundation—and our future.
On June 15, 2015, Len passed away. While he may be gone, he is not forgotten. His legacy lives on at KeyW and throughout the community.
